I am a photojournalist from the Midwest who recently transplanted to Athens, Georgia, with my wife and dog. I’m trying to learn about my new home through photography and better the community I live in thorugh visual storytelling.
Although it is a very rewarding job, stories can be difficult to tell at times. In those instances of emotional, tense, or scary situations I try and remind myself that these are usually the most important issues to our community.
There is a great responsibility as a journalist to be a source of information and change, especially in a community that values seeing your work at a newsstand or online.
That is what I am about.
I am a graduate of Michigan State Univeristy with a bachelors degree in journalism and have experience covering Big Ten and professional level sports.
Currently, I am based in Athens, Georgia, after spending two years working for the Citizen Patriot in Jackson, Michigan, on three-person photo staff and am available for assignments throughout the Midwest and Southeast regions.
